Restart Dance Competitions and Dance Events
With no competitions the young dancers of our country are losing inspiration to continue. Due to this, Dance schools and studios are losing revenue, as a chain reaction all the professional competitors, coaches and adjudicators are affected tremendously.
Professional competitors get majority of their income from competition prize money and achieved titles gives them status and work in various schools & dance studios. With no competitions and no children in the dance schools, neither is possible. The adjudicators and top coaches can’t earn their living if there are no competitions to adjudicate and competitors don’t have neither motivation nor money to take lessons and classes. Dance industry needs competitions and events to survive!

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:
The Government is responsible for determining what venues are allowed to open, and for providing guidance on working safely during Covid-19, but is not responsible for dance competitions and events. These would be a matter for individual organisers.
Dance studios are currently allowed to be open, but dance halls are still on the list of businesses that are required to remain closed: www.gov.uk/government/publications/further-businesses-and-premises-to-close/closing-certain-businesses-and-venues-in-england
The Government has published guidance on working safely during Covid-19 for people who work in performing arts, including arts organisations, venue operators and participants. It would be up to individual organisers to decide whether to hold dance competitions and events in line with current rules and guidance.
