Petition Action

Legalise the free farming, humane slaughter, consumption of dog meat in the UK.

Petition Details

To introduce legal free range farming of dogs for human consumption. To ensure that all slaughter is performed in the same humane method used for cows, pigs, chicken etc.
Also consider harvesting the females milk for the use of cheese and other dairy products.

Additional Information

Great Britain considers itself a multicultural nation. In recent events it has become apparent that certain cultures and traditions consume dog meat. The Government should consider making the farming and consumption of dogs legal to accommodate these cultures.
Dog numbers in Britain are continuing to grow. If measures aren't taken soon the country will be overrun with dogs. So animals should also be taken from shelters to relieve the pressure on this system.

This petition was rejected

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:

Petitions need to call on the Government or Parliament to take a specific action.

We're not sure exactly what you'd like the Government or Parliament to do. It is not currently illegal to consume dog meat. The UK Government and Parliament aren't responsible for cheese production.

You could start a new petition explaining clearly what you would like the Government or Parliament to do.
