Petition Action

Allow the characters on private registrations to be spaced out to display names.

Petition Details

Allow the space to be moved so it shows the name/word, which is the reason the plate would have been purchased in the first place.

Additional Information

Police ANPR systems can still read the number plates and pick up the vehicle details so I don't see why they can't be spaced to actually show the name. As long as there isn't any illegal bits done, such as adding a dot between 11 to make a H, then it should be allowed.

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:

There's already a petition about this issue. We cannot accept a new petition when we already have one about a very similar issue.

You are more likely to get action on this issue if you sign and share a single petition.
