Provide face coverings to all pupils over ten in receipt of free school meals.

Petition Details

Provide schools with the budget to supply all students in receipt of free school meals with reusable face coverings. To allow students to safely access public transport and move safely around crowded areas of schools.

Government guidance has recently changed with face coverings recommended in high transmission areas of schools: https://www.gov.uk/government/news/update-on-face-coverings-in-schools

Many students also need to travel to school on public transport. At a time when families are struggling, the cost of providing face coverings to students may cause financial distress. All students should be able to attend school safely regardless of their economic situation.
