Give common sense guidance to care homes about visits to residents.

Petition Details

Care homes seem to have odd and varied rules regarding when and how family and friends can visit residents. I appreciate that we must keep Covid out of care homes but mental anguish is now being experienced on both sides. If pubs can open why can't suitably masked visitors can't be admitted?

This petition was rejected

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:

The Government has already published guidance for care homes on developing policies for visiting arrangements during the Covid-19 outbreak: www.gov.uk/government/publications/visiting-care-homes-during-coronavirus/update-on-policies-for-visiting-arrangements-in-care-homes

Determining policies for individual care homes will be a matter for the operator of that care home, not the Government or House of Commons.
