Petition Action

End university fresher scamming

Petition Details

1. Make it a legal requirement for people who get profits from the sale of an event to clearly state they do when advertising or supporting it.
2. Make it a legal requirement to clearly state whether a university freshers page or chat is run by a profiting company and the details of this profit.

Additional Information

Tens of thousands of university freshers each year are encouraged to buy event tickets from hired employees of marketing companies, who pretend to be friendly fellow offer holding university students. This means they cannot make their own informed opinion on buying the tickets. Offer holder pages also alter an offer holders reputation of that university’s students when these employees act rude when people do not buy their tickets.
