Educate secondary schools around managing money.
Id like the government to introduce 1 lesson a week or fortnight about how to manage money for all secondary schools. Such as educate them around debt, savings account, current account and credit scores.
I would like the government to consider this as debt is constantly increasing and due to the circumstances it’ll only get worse. Therefore introducing this now will help Britain be a less debt which would benefit a number of different areas such as mental health, quality of life and the unemployment rate.
You can't sign this petition because it was rejected. But you can still comment on it here at Repetition.me!
The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:
Children in England are already required to learn about managing money, including bank accounts and the concept of debt, through the statutory Citizenship curriculum at both Primary and Secondary school level. You can find out more here: assets.publishing.service.gov.uk/government/uploads/system/uploads/attachment_data/file/402173/Programme_of_Study_KS1_and_2.pdf and www.gov.uk/government/publications/national-curriculum-in-england-citizenship-programmes-of-study/national-curriculum-in-england-citizenship-programmes-of-study-for-key-stages-3-and-4.
It is therefore not clear what else you would like the Government to do.
You could start a petition calling for the Government to fund improved financial education training and resources for teachers, if that is something you'd like to happen.
