Petition Action

Allow partners to attend antenatal appointments.

Petition Details

I want the government to allow partners to attend antenatal scans and appointments in hospitals.

Additional Information

Pubs, restaurants, leisure centres have all reopened and you are now allowed to have two households meeting indoors (in England). However, couples, who are in the majority, in a bubble together are still not permitted to attend antenatal scans together meaning some women are facing receiving horrendous news all on their own.

This petition was rejected

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:

Individual hospitals and clinics, not the UK Government or House of Commons, decide who can attend scans and antenatal appointments.

You should check with your maternity team and sonography unit for their policy on who can attend antenatal appointments, including scans.
