Petition Action

Do not deregulate use of genetically modified organisms (GMOs) post-Brexit

Petition Details

Do not allow deregulation of genetic modification and new genome modification techniques to make them compatible with definitions in place in the United States when the transition period ends.

Additional Information

Proposed changes to legislation to Genetic Modification and Genome Editing after the UK leaves the EU may destroy UK agriculture, the food chain, the environment, animal, bee and plant populations and human health as we know it.

Consequences of deregulation are unpredictable, uncontrolled and can create genetic chaos and mayhem - the long and short term consequences of which are unknown and untested.
