Remove processed meat and reduce dairy intake amongst school meal options
School meals include a selection of processed meats including ham, bacon, burgers and sausages as options for our children.
In addition, dairy is almost impossible to avoid in school meals with cheese or milk included in almost all meals.
I want the government to remove/reduce these in meals.
Processed meats are categorised as grade 1 carcinogens by the WHO.
Widespread research highlight their contribution to coronary disease, cancer & diabetes. The link of animal produce to pandemics and antibiotic resistance is clear.
Finally, the CO2 footprint of animal products is adding to environmental concerns.
This produce is not appropriate for our children.
