Put the official recommendations from Phase 1 of the Grenfell Inquiry into law
The Government must prevent tragedies such as Grenfell from happening again.
This can be achieved by initiating a re-vote on, and voting for, the proposed amendment to the Fire Safety Bill to incorporate official fire safety recommendations of Phase 1 of the Grenfell Inquiry.
As noted by The Mayor of London, Sadiq Khan: "The Grenfell Tower fire saw a terrible, tragic loss of life, and we owe it to those who died and their loved ones to ensure that nothing like it ever, ever happens again."
The Conservative Housing Secretary, James Brokenshire, promised to implement the official fire safety recommendations made during Phase 1 of the Grenfell Inquiry into law - the Conservatives have now backtracked on this promise by down voting the amendment.
