Change the meaning of the word Church in the Oxford and Cambridge dictionaries.

Petition Details

The word Church according to the Christian Faith does not mean a building. It's the people who are the Church. I would like to submit a request that the definition as stated in the Oxford and Cambridge dictionaries be revised and changed to reflect the truth of what aligns with the Bible.

Additional Information

We do not go to Church we are the Church which meets in buildings. This can be a house or any other building. Our young people need to understand that it's about a lifestyle, how you carry and conduct yourself and not lip service or just showing up on Sundays for service. I would like the government through parliament to facilitate the redress of this in order to allow clear identity among people the Christian faith which will hugely impact on morals, gang violence and many other crimes.

This petition was rejected

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:

The definitions set out in dictionaries are a matter for the producers of those dictionaries, not the UK Government or House of Commons.
