Petition Action

Exempt those under 12 years of age from the six person social limit.

Petition Details

Exempt those under 12 years old from being included in the ‘rule of six’ social contact restriction measures. This has been recognised as appropriate in Scotland.

Additional Information

The measures to limit social contacts to control coronavirus are important, and the country has worked hard to bring down the rate of transmission. By including young children who cannot be left without supervision in the ‘rule of six’ parents are considerably more restricted than the rest of the population, or, they will need to obtain a babysitter introducing another contact and transmission route. By exempting under 12s it will enable better mental health for parents and children.
