Call to resettle a meaningful number of refugees from Lesbos to the UK
One good decision will not absolve this government of general incompetence and poor leadership, but it would help address the UK’s special responsibility to certain refugees and moral obligation to all others.
The fires at Moira refugee camp highlight the vulnerability of thousands on Lesbos. Failure to cooperate with EU countries to help resettle refugees may seem politically expedient in focus groups, but is also unconscionable.
