Change the speed limit on motorways and dual carriageways

Petition Details

Derestrict the speed limit on UK motorways and dual carriageways. Apply a strict speed limit of 70mph for up to 2 miles on approach of exit, and post entry sections. Enforce strict action against drivers obstructing the flow of overtaking traffic on the right lanes.

Additional Information

The Government should put in place thorough motoring education and testing system to support such improved UK road network, to upskill UK society to make better drivers.

Proposed changes could:

Reduce road traffic.
Promote flow of vehicles.
Increase road awareness.
Reduce pollution due to reduced build-up of motor vehicles on roads.
Reduce cost of infrastructure required for average speed monitoring.
Reduce the need for policing thus resulting in savings of public funds.
