Provide safe haven for refugees affected by fire at Mória Refugee Camp
Offer asylum and/or permanent right of abode to 12,000 refugees affected by the 8 Sep fire at Mória Reception & Identification Centre. 1 refugee per >5,500 UK residents.
Mória Reception & Identification Centre (Greek: Κέντρο Υποδοχής και Ταυτοποίησης Μόριας) is the largest refugee camp in Europe. 20,000 children, women, & men live under horrid conditions.
On 8 Sep a fire badly damaged the camp, turning the “worst refugee camp on earth" (Médecins Sans Frontières field workers as reported by the BBC 28 August 2018) into an even more unliveable, inhospitable, and inhumane place to live. We can’t just stand by. 12,000 refugees represent <0.0002% of UK population.
