Monuments should not be removed if some think they venerate the morally flawed .
Produce fair balanced informative plaques for all monuments around the country. This will allow people to make a more informed value judgement about historical figures within the context of the time that they lived.
In the current climate, there is pressure from some interest groups to remove monuments. Some say they commemorate people who are now deemed by to be morally flawed. This at best is subjective. Better if people are allowed to make up their own minds when all relevant facts have been considered.
