Keep playgrounds open when considering measures to slow the spread of Covid-19
Children learn through play and develop physically, mentally and emotionally through physical activity. They are also essential safe places for parents. A mother can’t breastfeed while ensuring a toddler doesn’t run close to a road. If adults can visit a pub, allow kids to play in the playgrounds.

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:
Petitions need to request a clear action by the Government, and it's not clear exactly what you want the Government to do.
The Government has recently announced a new system of Covid-19 restrictions: www.gov.uk/government/news/prime-minister-announces-new-local-covid-alert-levels
None of the Covid alert levels would require playgrounds to close, but restrictions on meeting people from other households would have implications for how playgrounds could be used.
It would be up to individual local authorities, not the Government or House of Commons, to decide whether to keep playgrounds open under different levels of restrictions.
We could accept a petition calling on the Government to exempt playgrounds from Covid-19 restrictions, so that the new rules do not apply to playgrounds, if that is what you want to happen.
