Create more awareness in schools about mental health.

Petition Details

Make schools teach about mental health and different mental health disorders to help more students if they’re dealing with it.

Additional Information

students should have an understanding of mental health illnesses incase they know anyone dealing with it and want to help or if you’re dealing with it yourself you know how to get help or help yourself.

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:

Education about physical health and mental wellbeing is already part of the Department for Education's statutory guidance on Relationships and Sex Education (RSE) and Health Education, which forms part of the national curriculum: www.gov.uk/government/publications/changes-to-personal-social-health-and-economic-pshe-and-relationships-and-sex-education-rse. RSE education will be compulsory from September 2020.
