Authorise extensions to bursaries for final year social work students URGENTLY
The Department of Health and Social Care have yet to confirm whether social work student bursaries will be paid for those affected by COVID-19. This is unacceptable. Some students have only just commenced their final placements in August / September and are at risk of being unable to finish.
The Chief Executive of The Department of Health and Social Care needs to give instruction to NHS Bursaries URGENTLY. Universities cannot support these students. Students are at risk of failing to complete their courses. Social workers are in demand. Why are we putting our future social workers in hardship and their children and families at risk of deprivation. Decisions need to be made NOW and finances put in place URGENTLY!

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:
Petitions need to call on the Government or Parliament to take a specific action.
We're not sure exactly what you'd like the Government or Parliament to do. The Goernment have indicated that extensions are already available:

You could start a new petition explaining clearly what you would like the Government or Parliament to do.
