Petition Action

Provide an emergency sports recovery fund to save our clubs from extinction

Petition Details

Provide emergency financial support to the country’s sports clubs while grounds and facilities remain closed to spectators and other users. If not, the very existence of these institutions that play such an important role in our communities is under serious threat.

Additional Information

The country’s sports clubs play an essential role in promoting good physical and mental health, provide hundreds of thousands of jobs, contribute billions of pounds to the local economy, play a big part in social cohesion and above all bring joy to millions of people whether it is by watching teams play or having been inspired to play themselves by our clubs.

Support would be inline with the £1.76bn given to the Arts industry in July.
