Cancel Secondary School examinations in 2021 and use Teacher Assessment
Pupils who are due to sit exams in Yrs 11/13 in 2021 will have received more interruption to their learning than children who were due to take their exams this summer. They have missed months of face-to-face quality teaching which is proven to be the best way to learn with further uncertainty ahead.
Yr 11/13 pupils facing exams in a few months have not only had to deal with enforced home learning with many families unable to support, faced disruption at home & immense stress levels with lockdown. Across the country there has been an uneven quality/provision of home learning distributed to pupils. Lack of Covid testing has already led to pupils having to miss school, some for 2 wks & this is just the beginning! Exams are meant to be a fair & equal reflection across the country.Trust schools!
