Repeal the Greater Manchester Spatial Framework (in all of forms).
We would like the national Government to step in and prevent the local Councils of Greater Manchester from developing on green belt land.
The green belt of Greater Manchester is vitally important to all local residents. Developing on this land would have a huge impact on the local flora and fauna, and the negatives affects on the health and wellbeing of local residents far outweigh the need for additional homes. Greater Manchester has an abundance of brownfield sites that can be utilised to help with the housing crisis without damaging our natural habitats and environment.

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:
Deciding on local planning policies is a matter for individual local authorities, not the Government or House of Commons.
We could accept a petition calling on the Government to ban all development on the green belt, to prevent local authorities from authorising development in these areas.
