Allow Students to go home for Christmas
Matt Handcock has “not ruled out banning students from returning home for the Christmas holidays”, allow students to spend Christmas with their families
If students are not allowed to return home for Christmas it will be hugely detrimental to their mental health, which will result in a huge spike in student suicide rates. While the spread of the virus must be controlled, to stop students, most of whom have never been away from home before, from seeing their families over the festive season would be cruel.
