Require and fund the local provision of swimming and leisure facilities

Petition Details

The Government should create legislation to make the provision of sports and leisure centres, including public swimming pools, a statutory requirement for all local authorities, and provide funding for these facilities to be built and maintained.

Additional Information

There is currently insufficient funding at a local level to provide these essential services and councils are unable to support the provision without Government intervention.
