Extend furlough scheme for the Cinema industry

Petition Details

To offer an extended furlough scheme to employees of cinema chains and independent cinemas in the UK, allowing the cinema industry to reach its pre-lockdown businesses levels whilst awaiting “blockbuster” product.

Additional Information

The industry will collapse without support, this industry has not yet managed to attract customers due to Studios not releasing their blockbuster films. An extension to the furlough scheme, will allow companies to retain their staff, until the distributors release their products. The loss of this sector will result in losing thousands of jobs and millions of pounds per year in tax. The audience is there, but is awaiting product.
