Petition Action

Increase UK defence budget

Petition Details

We want the Government to increase the UK's defence budget to at least £70 billion from the current £41 billion.

Additional Information

We have been neglecting our armed forces for too long. The recent construction of HMS Queen Elizabeth and HMS Prince of Wales showed potential but we can't even afford to give it our own escort and instead rely on other nations to do so.

Giving our armed forces a larger budget to work with will increase our leverage in trade negotiations, grant our leaders more freedom to make desicions, allow us to protect vital trade routes and not rely on other countries, such as the USA, for defence.
