Petition Action

Legal aid should not be means tested for domestic abuse victims.

Petition Details

I want government to change the legal aid criteria for domestic abuse victims in family court. Every victim should be treated fairly regardless of income.

Additional Information

Domestic abuse victims have already been victimised by their perpetrator. This can damage a persons self esteem and confidence. To then not have accews to a solicitor for someone support and navigate them through the court process or advocate on their behalf in court it can traumatise a victim further.
