Prevent 2020/2021 pay rise for MPs
Prevent the planned wage increase for MPs.
At this time, during a pandemic that could potentially see millions unemployed, MPs SHOULD NOT be adding to their inflated wages. The total increase of £2,145,000 per year could be more beneficial to the NHS rather than in filling the pockets of MPs
Defer further pay increases for MPs for a period of 5 years minimum. Award monies that would have been used for a pay rise to the NHS instead.

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:
MPs are not responsible for setting or voting on their own pay and expenses.
The Independent Parliamentary Standards Authority (IPSA) is responsible for deciding on MPs' expenses and pay. IPSA is independent of both Parliament and Government.
