Create a law to make UK private pensions be invested in sustainable companies.
Make a law to ensure that private pensions are invested in sustainable and ecologically sound companies by default.
With members of pensions having the option to opt out of sustainable investment rather than opt in.
A similar method to the organ donor list.
By doing this, it will move billions of pounds of investment into companies that meet sustainable targets set by the government. As investment is than moved away from the unsustainable companies it will force them to increase their awareness and make the move to net zero.
Pensions are big money and creating a law to move all pension investments this way by default will make the UK meet its long term strategic environmental goals by making companies think about their business activities.

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:
Decisions about investments by private pension funds are a matter for fund managers, not the Government or House of Commons.
