Make routine breast screenings available for over 71's
To make mammograms available for over 71's
Due to covid-19, the routine every three years mammogram for over 71's has been stopped, the only way to get a mammogram is by referral from your GP which requires a reason of why you should get one.
Even if you've had breast cancer previously or are high risk of getting it you still are unable to book a routine appointment yourself.
You can't sign this petition because it was rejected. But you can still comment on it here at Repetition.me!
The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:
The decision to suspend breast screening for women aged 71 and over is an operational matter for the NHS, not the Government or House of Commons.
At present routine NHS breast screenings are only offered to people up to the age of 71. If you want the age people are offered routine breast screenings to be increased you could start a new petition requesting this.
