Review legal status of Cannabidiol for medical use
Cannabidiol (CBD) a cannabinoids found in cannabis. Given that it does not produce a high, it cannot be abused recreationally, and yet strong restrictions are placed on access.
This is despite a growing body of evidence in journals of the effectiveness as an anti-psychotic that performs as well as olanzapine but without disabling side effects [1] and bipolar disorder [2], among many others. The scientific and medical consensus is quite clear in that this could be a new avenue for treatments.
Despite this, its current legal status makes it impossible to obtain, even via prescription.
Given the lack of a patent on this compound and the range of potential uses in treating disease, the NHS could make huge savings and deliver more effective care, while making our country pioneers in medicine.

For further medical information review the pubmed database for information on cannabidiol.
