The government shouldn’t allow MP’s to take their pay increase this year.
This year has been hard for everyone, but for those who have been furloughed, self employed and have lost a huge amount of work this year, or their boss has went bust, it’s really awful.
If our representatives get a pay rise when many of their constituents are suffering, what does that say?!
This country is hurting! We’ve had a huge loss this year with the outbreak, emotionally, mentally, physically as well as economically!
We need to know that our elected representatives are in this with us!

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:
The UK Government and Parliament aren't responsible for setting MPs' pay. The Independent Parliamentary Standards Authority (IPSA) is responsible for deciding on MPs' expenses and pay. IPSA is independent of both Parliament and Government.
You can find out more about IPSA here: www.theipsa.org.uk/about-us/.
