Petition Action

Provide nebulisers free to NHS patients when advised by a GP / Hospital etc.

Additional Information

Calling out a paramedic when an asthma / COPD patient needs to be placed on a nebuliser costs in the region of £700.
Providing a nebuliser to those where recommended by a doctor would cost in the region of £100 per patient, and this could then be used numerous times, possibly saving the cost of calling out a paramedic.
Currently patients can have medication prescribed (at prescription charge costs) but have to buy their own nebuliser if needed.
The NHS would save money if those in need were provided with a nebuliser.
