Give all key workers (Not just NHS) a pay rise in 2021.
The government should give all Key Workers who have worked through the pandemic to keep the country working, a decent pay rise. Most key workers are on minimum wage.
Most key workers are on minimum wage. People who have not been able to work during the pandemic have likely been furloughed. This means they’ve gotten 80% of their salary for doing no work. However they’ve been saving on transport costs and such like.
All key workers who have worked during the pandemic should receive a pay rise. Those on minimum wage are clearly in professions worthy of more than minimum if they’re essential to the running of the country and deserve the increase.
