Cap MPs pay increases to the lowest annual increase given to key workers such as nurses, teachers, policemen and firemen.
It is appalling that MPs are soon to be given a 4.1% pay rise yet nurses are not to receive one until April 2021.

Since 2010:
Nurses wages have increased by £3000 a real terms decrease of 5%.
Police wages have increased by £900, a real terms decrease of 14%.

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:
The UK Government and Parliament aren't responsible for setting MPs' pay. The Independent Parliamentary Standards Authority (IPSA) is responsible for deciding on MPs' expenses and pay. IPSA is independent of both Parliament and Government.
IPSA is currently running a consultation on the proposed changes to MPs' pay and pensions. You can take part in this consultation and share your views with them here: www.theipsa.org.uk/publications/consultations/review-of-mps-pay-and-pensions/.
