Increase in Asylum Cash Support for Children with Autism during COVID-19

Petition Details

Increase asylum support for children with special educational needs during Covid
Asylum seekers receive around £5.00 per day to meet their food, toiletries and other basic needs.

Additional Information

A child with special educational needs has more complex needs than normal and thus needs more financial assistance. I want the Government to grant additional £50/week to meet these complex basic needs.

My 6 year old son is diagnosed with life-long high functioning autism, he is non-verbal, has sensory needs and faces increased issues during lockdown because we cannot buy him enough resources for him to stay busy, e.g. bike, toys and other essentials. The amount we receive is £5 a day which is hardly enough for food.
