Omit the MPs pay rise of 4.1% during the COVID crisis

Petition Details

We want parliament to omit any pay increase for MPs during the COVID crisis. MPs have an annual income over £80,000 and are set to gain an extra 4.7%. Have a salary freeze for 3 years and Set future MP pay increases in line with other public sectors of 1-2%.

Additional Information

According to latest figures (Oct 2020) over 700,000 people are unemployed, mainly due to the COVID crisis. Many businesses are having to fold and set redundancies due to the pandemic. These people are stressed and must rely on the poor universal credit to feed their families, until they can gain new employment or retrain in something unfamiliar. It is shameful after the crisis they may be austerity to pay for funding, yet MPs remain to increase their salary.
