Remove Halton from the Mersey City Region.
Halton Borough is part of Cheshire and as such should not be part of the Mersey City Region. People of Halton would like to see us removed from this and have the additional council tax contributions stopped.
The people of Halton were not consulted and asked for the views on joining the Mersey City Region. We have had increased council tax with no discernible benefits in return.
It is unfair to expect us to subsidise Merseyside when we get no benefit from it.
Major decisions like this should be put to the vote of the constituency to decide our future.

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:
This is a matter for Halton Borough Council, Cheshire West and Chester Council, and the Liverpool City Region, not the UK Government or Parliament.
You can find out how to contact Halton Borough Council about this matter here: www3.halton.gov.uk/Pages/councildemocracy/Contact-Us.aspx.
You could also contact your local MP and ask them to raise the matter with the relevant local authorities on your behalf, if that was something you'd like to happen. You can find their contact details by entering your post code here: members.parliament.uk/FindYourMP
