Change Prices Of Necessary Items (Food, Drinks, Etc.) To Combat Issues
People around the UK are losing jobs and therefore no longer putting money in their pockets to feed their families, this means that families are starving more because of their family members have lost their jobs (due to getting fired, sacked, etc.) due to COVID-19
After recent news outlets that have been expressing news about people who are going unemployed and losing their jobs due to COVID, this has caused many people to have to live off of what money they have only, this causes them to have to spend it on food, drinks, etc where they also would be paying rent, utilities and many more. In this case, the government should lower the prices of the necessary items, foods and drinks to help combat not only COVID but also unemployment and hunger.
You can't sign this petition because it was rejected. But you can still comment on it here at Repetition.me!
The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:
Setting the price of consumer goods is a matter for individual retailers, not the Government or House of Commons.
We could accept a petition calling on the Government to fund the provision of food vouchers for low-income families or those that have lost their job during Covid-19, if that is something you would like to happen.
