Hold the government accountable for their negligence re: COVID-19 crisis.
Parliament should hold a public enquiry into the government’s mishandling of the COVID-19 crisis and if it’s determined that there has been negligence, the Conservative government, fronted by Boris Johnson, ought to be held accountable for their actions in a court of law.
I would like there to be a public enquiry to establish why the U.K. has such a high mortality rate compared to countries like New Zealand, whose death toll attributed to COVID-19 currently stands at 25.

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:
Your petition calls for a parliamentary inquiry to establish whether the UK Government should be held accountable by a court of law for its handling of the Covid-19 outbreak. However, decisions about civil legal action is matter for individual litigants, and decisions about criminal legal action is a matter for the Crown Prosecution Service, not Parliament.
