Prevent swimming pools closing if there is a spike in COVID-19 cases
In the event that there is a spike in COVID-19 cases anywhere in the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, swimming pools are not closed as a measure to stop the spread of COVID-19.
Swimming Pools are following the advice and guidance from the Government and Swim England.
Swimming Pools are a place for everyone but also a place for athletes to train and a place for the community to enjoy. Swimming is also an excellent form of rehabilitation and recreational activity. Through exercise the immune system and mental wellbeing of others is enhanced. Many people cannot exercise outside due to confidence issues or health related issues.
The Government needs to support the recovery of Sport and Recreation and provide this to the community for the longer term.
