Fund 1:1 support for children with ECHPs all year not just term time
The Government should provide funding to make the 1:1 support that is available to those with additional needs all year instead of just term time. Disabilities don't take holidays, so why should those living with additional needs only be supported for part of the year?
I'm the mother of two children with additional needs who each have an EHCP with the requirement of 1:1 support, but that is only funded during term time, meaning they do not receive this support at other times, when their development could suffer.
Just because they have additional needs doesn't mean they don't matter. They deserve to achieve. They deserve to reach their dreams. The Government should ensure this is possible by providing funding for the extra support they need.
