Tighten/enforce restrictions in ALL UK supermarkets.
I want the government to ensure supermarkets are a safe place to work and shop. Currently they feel like a free for all scenario where numerous people can turn up at once and can stay for as long as they wish. Also social distancing is rarely adhered to.
I just believe that if tighter restrictions are in place at pubs and restaurants and all other aspects of the hospitality sector then why are supermarkets ignored? There are clear issues in most supermarkets e.g too many people in the store at most times of the day making it almost impossible for social distancing to be carried out, make face coverings legal and let stores refuse people entry with no face covering and make supermarkets a safe place rather than a free for all.

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:
We understand that you are concerned about how supermarkets are operating during Covid-19, but it's not clear what changes you want the Government to make to current rules.
It is already a legal requirement to wear a face covering in shops and supermarkets unless you are exempt: www.gov.uk/government/publications/face-coverings-when-to-wear-one-and-how-to-make-your-own/face-coverings-when-to-wear-one-and-how-to-make-your-own
The Government has also published Covid-19 guidance for people who work in or run shops, branches, stores or similar environments, which includes advice on social distancing and other workplace safety measures: www.gov.uk/guidance/working-safely-during-coronavirus-covid-19/shops-and-branches
We could accept a petition calling for new rules relating to supermarkets, but it would need to be clear exactly what you wanted these to be.
