Petition Action

Cultural sensitivity must not be an as excuse for ignoring children who go missing from schools

Additional Information

We call on the government and the Department for Education to ensure that every missing child is account for.

Authorities are turning a blind eye when children vanish from schools and are forced into marriage, due to cultural sensitivity.

Not just in the Asian community, but hundreds of Charedi (strictly Orthodox) Jewish children vanish from schools every year. By the government's own admission, this is being ignored due to cultural sensitivity.

The plight of a child cannot be ignored regardless of their cultural background. The government must introduce a programme that will ensure that every child is accounted for regardless of their cultural background.
