Petition Action

Ban loud fireworks, for the protection of animals who get very frightened.

Petition Details

We all love fireworks, but not the loud bangs which frighten pets & other animals. It’s heartbreaking to see animals shaking in fear, the bangs start well before bonfire night and carry on right up to New Year. All we want are for the loud bangs to stop.

This petition was rejected

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:

We understand that you are concerned about loud fireworks, but it's not clear exactly what you mean by banning loud fireworks. Currently there is a noise limit of 120 decibels on all consumer fireworks, but it's not clear what you want this to be reduced to.

We have published the following petition, which you might like to sign:

Review and reduce the decibel limit on fireworks sold to the public: petition.parliament.uk/petitions/549758

We could accept a petition calling on the Government to reduce the current limit to a different figure, if you have a particular limit you want to be imposed.
