Petition Action

We urge the government to grant Anglo-Indians British citizenship.

Petition Details

We urge the British government to grant Anglo-Indians British citizenship. The Anglo-Indian community not only has a shared ancestral history with the British but they are also proud of their English, Irish, Scottish and Welsh roots.

Additional Information

Britain is the ancestral home of Anglo-Indians. They have as much right to live in the UK as any other British citizen. I believe that this would also be good for business and will deepen ties with an emerging economy.

This petition was rejected

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:

Petitions need to call on the Government or Parliament to take a specific action.

We're not sure exactly who you'd like to be covered by the granting of citizenship.

You could start a new petition explaining clearly what you would like the Government or Parliament to do.
