Shield and support the elderly and vulnerable.
There is no point in crippling our economy with the aim of preventing those of sound immunity and health from contracting the virus. Enforce a lockdown on the elderly and vulnerable, and let the rest of us support our society by keeping the country open.
It is clear from the data presented by Downing Street on 20th October that the elderly are the ones requiring hospital beds.
If you’re old or have underlying health issues, you should not be be out and about.
Instead of throwing millions of pounds at furlough packages, support shielding where necessary: childcare for those who rely on elderly family members; furlough those who are vulnerable; support services for those shielding/rehousing for those living with children of school age etc.
