Petition Action

Scrapping most examinations at GCSE level and below in order to engage students rather than train them to pass increasingly meaningless certificates.

Additional Information

Reduce the burden of examinations at GCSE to just Maths and English, ensuring all students achieve well at this level in these key areas.
In all other subject areas, the purpose of education at GCSE and below should be about engaging and inspiring young minds. Much teaching is based around meeting targets, missing the point of being inspirational. I feel both students, parents and many teachers would prefer to move away from examination training freeing up the curriculum for creativity and engagement.
