Every child diagnosed with type 1 diabetes to have a 24 hour glucose monitor.
To pass the ruling that every child diagnosed with type 1 diabetes has immediate access to a 24 hour glucose monitor which means they don't have to prick their fingers numerous times a day and parents/ carers can see if they are going to have a hypo especially during the night.
To scrap all criteria, it should be automatic that every child under 16 has this machine. Why aren't all children treated the same and if the technology is available and will make the parents and child's life that bit easier then it's a no brainer.
The amount it costs for testing strips, lancets, disposing of sharps boxes and blood testing kits surely this amounts to roughly the same as the machine.
It's stressful enough when your child is diagnosed so why the extra worry???
